I KNEW IT!! When he didn't say "I guess we'll never meet" I was like "hold up"
I heard that NETFLIX'S dub version doesn't have the Ed named 'Fly Me to the Moon'... Is it true??
Yes that's true, I guess they didn't want to foot the bill for Frank Sinatra licensing, I blame them. It's a very pretty song and I recommend everyone to listen to it at least once. With all that said i would still watch the Netflix dub. The old dub is just so dated and you could tell the actors just weren't comfortable with their characters. The Netflix dub does a real good job cleaning everything up. Ignore the child, he's been trolling me and he's mad cause everytime I acknowledge his existence it makes him look stupid
I'm watching the Old Dub... I'm liking it, maybe it's just a personal preference. But, I do think Netflix's Dub is the better Dub version.
That is true. He is also wrong on all counts, the original dub is better.
I'm watching the Old Dub... I'm liking it, maybe it's just a personal preference. But, I do think Netflix's Dub is the better Dub version. Netflix's dub sounds more professional because if modern technology. The original dub was recorded wayyyy back then. Both has it's charms. I won't blame anyone for picking one over the other.
>I do think Netflix's dub is the better dub
I disagree. The Netflix version is soulless, robotic and too adherent to the original Japanese
Compare that with the Netflix dub and it's... I'm inclined to say dead, but flat is more like it. The exaggerated inflections that united cartoonish humour with deadpan melodrama is gone and left with a saline solution. Certainly you could say it's more professional, but where's the fun everyone clearly had underlying all the dialogue? And I'm not convinced the arguments of, "it uses modern technology," are applicable since the original sounded perfectly fine; I could hear and understand everything clearly, and whatever archaic noise was present was endearing to me as a testament to it being of the 90's
Most people don't even understand how boring the original Japanese is because when they watch the sub, their brain only processes the dialogue as white noise leaving them with having to only read the subtitles, which they automatically sound out in their heads the "right way" according to themselves, making them think it's better than it actually is.
Damn, that's hella informative!! Thank you!!
A lot of your points are subjective rather than objective. I think if you're gonna take the time to deconstruct something like you did, you should keep the latter in mind. I'm not trying to attack you or your opinion, just some thoughts as I read your post. It seems as though some people got the impression that I was saying the original is unwatchable, which isn't the case at all. All I'm saying is Netflix dub > original dub; I can appreciate the original but the redub is much better.
It's kinda crazy watching an anime in 2023 that is set in 2015, like all the futuristic stuff
So, Pacific Rim was based on this! Man, the Japanese are Years ahead in everything!!
Im gonna watch this on Netflix lol
what impressed me was the fact that car still runs after getting hit by projectiles and surviving a nuclear blast shockwave and still drives beside the battery's keeping it running from the emp of the nuclear blast.
damn I think the comment section has also watched evangelion cause its so depressed 🥱🥱😔😔
Well it's the dub....not many people watched dub so no comments here!
Okay *sad piano voices*
Damn!
man the MC sounds like a girl
this anime probably has one of the best intros ever
9:27 And they were let down
ye ok
Its made how this is set in the future (the future being 2015) and now 7 years later we see this as a distant past.
Netflix's dub doesn't have the ending song 'Fly Me to the Moon'... 😕
they DID NOT just replace the dub with the netflix one
5:28 looking a bit sus
the 90s dub are really funny
wait .......... dont u think its kinda same as darling in the franxx ??
Darling in the Franxx is based and inspired by "Evangelion"
Shut up you deku pfp
yes i ws just about to say this
the animation is not good by modern standard but that does not matter.... its the PLOT that matters
Can't wait to finally hear Komm Susser Tod again so I can get the whole experience of listening to it by slitting my wrists while soaking in a bathtub full of fanta.
want some pizza to go with that fanta
Yes this is the Netflix dub. I don't know why some people say it isn't. The main reason this version is disliked is because later on they took out a scene that insinuates Shinji may have performed homosexual acts with a friend of his. I don't like that they took it out either but this is by far the superior version. The audio in the original is terrible and while the voice actors are the same in the original they were just starting their careers and didn't have as much experience. Trust me, this is the best way to watch Evangelion dub and when you get to the part they cut out, you'll know it when you get there, just watch it on YouTube if you're that curious but you're not missing much if you don't
